Flavours of Summer and Some Rugby Talk
This week marked the real start of summer here at ely wine bar, ely place with the launch of our
new season menus.
We introduced seasonal favourites to our lunch menu and Executive Chef; Ryan Stringer did some stellar tweeting to mark the occasion @elywinebars #elyplace.
Some words from Ryan on the new menu choices…
“With summer arriving it’s time to eat lighter and fresher.
This generous season lavishes us with its bounty that we should eat with as little human intervention as possible and
preserve as much as we can to enjoy in the darker months”.
Mouth-watering creations
like ‘four tomato ‘salad; tomatoes – beef, plum, cherry and sundried with flavours of oregano and anchovy.
If you wish, add chargrilled chicken.
As well as Roaring bay mussels & fregola; charred fennel, white wine and chilli.
The organic pork schnitzel with horseradish potato is perfect paired with a glass of 2016 Domaine Zinck, Pinot Blanc from Alsace.
On our lunch menu we also recommend
Two Tasty Wines at just €5 per glass
which won’t disappoint. A perfect opportunity to enjoy a cheeky glass with lunch or even two if it’s a special occasion!
Speaking of wine and beverages to be a little more precise…
The Guinness Pro 12 Final will take place this Saturday the 27th of May at the
Aviva Stadium on Lansdowne Road.
Munster Rugby will play Scarlets in the final kicking off at 18.15.
ely wine bar will be open for pre match drinks and a bite to eat after the match with a nice bottle!
The bar and restaurant are open from 5pm until late so be sure to pop in pre or post-match to say hello and ask our team about the drinks special of the day.
Staying on the subject of rugby we see that tickets are now available for the Guinness Series of Autumn Internationals 2017.
The games are traditionally played in November each year and this year Ireland will take on South Africa, Fiji and Argentina at the Aviva Stadium.
This year the Springboks game will mark the opening of the 2017 GUINNESS Series and kicks off at 5.30 on Saturday, November 11.
Ireland will then play Fiji on Saturday the 18th of November and Argentina on Saturday the 25th of November.
ely wine bar, ely place is an ideal choice for dinner on drinks, particularly en route home from the match.
We offer a range of dining spaces housed in our charming Georgian building and are now taking reservations for groups and individual bookings for
the November Guinness Series dates and also this Saturday for the Pro 12 Final.
We’re looking forward to the game and know which reds we will be cheering for!
