ely gastro bar, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2 will close its doors

Erik and Michelle Robson of ely restaurant group announce that the successfully trading ely gastro bar, located at 1 Hanover Quay, Grand Canal Square in Dublin 2, will close its doors on Monday 19th January, 2015.

ely restaurant group purchased its unit in Hanover Quay in 2006. Following the withdrawal of Danske Bank from the Irish market, the property was put up for sale on June 6th, 2014 and is now confirmed as sold. Until Monday 19th January, 2015 and since the 6th June, 2014 ely gastro bar has been managed by ely restaurant group on behalf of the receivers, Grant Thornton, to ensure a successful and seamless sale. ely restaurant group would like to offer a note of appreciation to Grant Thornton for how they have handled the receivership process.

ely gastro bar has successfully traded in Grand Canal Square since opening its doors in 2007 and has received many awards and accolades for its commitment to food provenance and service, plus widespread recognition for its selection of craft beers, cocktails and, of course, wines over the past seven years.

ely restaurant group wishes to thank their loyal supporters, neighbours, suppliers, distinguished press and valued customers for their continued commitment. Most importantly, they are sincerely grateful to the entire dedicated staff of ely gastro bar. Staff members have been kept informed and ely has ensured that no jobs have been lost.

ely restaurant group will relocate the ely gastro bar concept and the group continues to pursue other projects with plans to open other venues. ely look forward to continuing to serve their valued customers in ely wine bar, 22 Ely Place, Dublin 2 and ely bar & brasserie, IFSC, Dublin 1, both of which are unaffected by the exiting of Danske Bank.
